MSC-5000M Automatic multi-site cleaning system

MSC system adopts the closed mode, using a fully automatic moving arm structure, consisting of a series of modular unit tanks to utilize all kinds of cleaning technology. It is designed for cleaning flux residue, solder paste, and SMT glue that is adhered to IC, semiconductors, PCBAs, and electronic parts.

The machine system can also meet a high degree of automation, mass cleaning capacity, and high surface cleanliness.

SYSTEM OVERVIEW

CLEANING PROCESS

  • The ultrasonic/jet-flow station function adopts a modular design that can operate independently, and has single and dual functions according to needs, that is, one unit has the function of one to two different units, and two working modes can be realized at the same time.
  • High-pressure spray rinsing station, designed cycle rinsing and direct rinsing two working modes, can be enabled at the same time, can also be freely selected.
  • Hot air drying unit adopts fan large flow hot air working mode, without external air source. Large flow fan allows hot air to quickly blow over the surface of the workpiece, quickly take away water vapor, and design nitrogen inlet (air heating system can be closed separately, so as to achieve room temperature dry).
  • The rinsing station is designed with controllable running water function of reverse overflow to ensure the rinsing water quality, save DI water consumption, and avoid the trouble of artificial regular water change.

MAIN STRUCTURE AND WORKING PRINCIPLE

Cleaning process part structural characteristics

The cleaning part is composed of ultrasonic jet cleaning, high pressure spray rinsing, ultrasonic jet rinsing, hot air drying and other different number of functional units. The cleaning unit is equipped with an independent high-precision circulating filtration system. Its main advantages are:

  • Large flow, high-precision independent liquid circulation filtration: The cleaning unit is equipped with a large flow, high-precision independent liquid circulation filtration system, which not only ensures the cleanliness of the cleaning station, but also greatly extends the service life of the cleaning fluid and reduces the cost of use.
  • Independent timing control design: Each function module is equipped with an independent timing control design, the user can set the corresponding optimal working time according to the cleaning process requirements of different workpieces, so that the equipment can achieve the highest use efficiency.
  • Double level sensor: Each unit is equipped with a double level sensor, which can realize the low level alarm with two level protection, prompting the user to add the cleaning medium of the corresponding cleaning station in time, and the heater is also protected by low level interlock.
  • PID control system: All unit heating system adopts PID control system, touch screen digital display, high control precision, and overtemperature, low liquid level and other protective measures.

The structure, function and working principle of the main components

Ultrasonic/Jet-flow cleaning/rinsing station

The station utilizes advanced ultrasonic technology from the bottom and front to efficiently clean workpieces by harnessing the power of ultrasonic cavitation. The integrated jet feature swiftly removes contaminants from the workpiece surface, while a specially designed circulation tank ensures a consistent liquid level and cleanliness for optimal cleaning results. Users have the flexibility to customize jet and ultrasonic settings for an effective cleaning process.

Cavitation is a common occurrence in liquids where the physical impact of ultrasound creates localized areas of negative pressure. This leads to the formation of tiny voids or bubbles at points within the liquid, causing fractures in the liquid or liquid-solid interface. These bubbles are unstable, undergoing a cycle of creation, expansion, and rapid collapse. The sudden closure and bursting of these bubbles generate micro-shock waves, resulting in high pressure in the affected area. This process of void or bubble formation and swift closure within a liquid is known as cavitation.

High-pressure spray rinsing station

A solid conical nozzle is utilized for the high-pressure spray, positioned on the automatic expansion groove cover. The spray is directed from top to bottom, and spraying commences upon closing the cover.

Once the external pure water is warmed by the pipeline heater, it flows into both the liquid storage tank and circulation tank for storage and further heating. At the beginning of spray activation, the spray pump draws liquid from the circulation tank for rinsing in circulation mode. As the spray operation progresses, the pump switches to drawing liquid from the liquid storage tank for direct discharge mode, resulting in sprayed liquid being released.

N2 hot air dryer station

The station is outfitted with a range of equipment including a high-capacity fan, air heater, air filter, and air duct located outside the drying chamber. The fan efficiently circulates hot air within the chamber to prevent heat loss. The electric heater generates hot air that is filtered through a precise air filter before being directed to the workpiece through the air duct, ensuring thorough drying of the workpiece’s surface. Moreover, the heating system features a mechanical overtemperature circuit breaker and digital analog temperature sensor for precise temperature control and safety measures.
